I finally cleaned up my development area. Here is a picture.

System rejected estimate

I got an email from a user that system is not accepting his estimate and generating an error. All posted estimates are processed by our custom algorithm. The algorithm is based on sell side analyst estimates and historic earnings data.

If the estimate is outside the range of the range generated by this algorithm, the estimate is rejected by the system and an error is generated.

Next Step - May 07-2007

1. We are adding an alert feature into the system. You will get an alert whenever a new estimate is added into the system for your portfolio stocks or stocks you posted your estimate.

Point System

The logged in user can earn five points for posting the research notes (basis of estimate). Each positive vote for your note will earn you one additional point. You can redeem these points to view estimates for any stock without entering your estimate for this stock. You need five points to view estimate for each stock other than your estimated stocks.

Free Account Feature Added

Yesterday was deployment day. We added free account feature.

Benefits of creating account:

• Users are allowed to post estimates before earnings are announced. The post estimate interface does not allow estimates to be entered more than once per stock per quarter. You can view the estimates posted by other traders by logging into the system and view estimates for this stock.


• The logged in users can view estimates posted for companies already reported earnings.


• The logged in user can plot the sell side analyst estimates on the chart and track the price movement on the day of the estimate revision.


• Track your gain loss with portfolio feature.

Whisper Estimates - The child has born

Thanks for stopping by at Whisper Estimates blog. We recently released our basic version of WhisperEstimates.com. Currently you can post your estimate and the system will show you the estimates posted by institutional analyst and retail investors.

This is our attempt to step into the brave world of earnings. We all know that earnings move the stocks. Our goal is to build an online community tracking earnings and helping each other with potential red flags before the actual earnings.

We are looking for few users to test our system and provide feedback as we add new features and networking interface into the system. We are soon enabling free account setup where you can track and view estimates for same stocks multiple times.
